Fox House is situated in the Pre-Pyrenees near the town of Tremp just over 2 hrs drive from Barcelona, and around 2 hrs south of the borders with France and Andorra.

Tremp is the nearest town with a train and bus station - public transport from Lerida and Barcelona is available.

Walking and Hiking

There are walks to suit all abilities in the local area and further afield taking in many villages, caves, natural pools and waterfalls. The stunning Mont Rebei Gorge and Sant Maurici parc are within driving distance, offering jaw dropping scenery.

Mountain Biking

Tremp, has a dedicated trail building association that is uniting a whole community around mountain biking. Dragon Khan is the most well-known trail. In this zone you will also find other top-hits like Serengueti and Afghanistrail. These trails are not very rocky or technical, but there are ridges and curves that require a certain level of awareness due to the exposure.

Climbing

The Internationally renowned Terradets Gorge is about 23km away boasting over 200+ climbs of up to 500m. To the west is the Mont Rebei Gorge offering a selection of 85 routes up to 600m. The old road from la Pobla de Segur to Sort passes through the Collegats Gorge with 400 climbs on conglomerate and limestone. To the east is the Vilanova de Meia area. Other climbing areas are Sant Llorenc de Montgai to the south, Abella de la Conca, Santa Linya and Oliana to mention just a few.

Wine

Within sight are two prominent vineyards Castell d’Encus and Torres. Within the local county there are over a dozen world class vineyards offering a variety of traditional, organic, high altitude grown and heritage wines. We have teamed up with the best to offer tours, tastings and more.

Winter Sports

Within 50km there are several ski resorts, including Baqueira-Beret, Vielha, Super Espot etc. Andorra, with its shops and ski slopes, is around two hours drive away. There’s something for everyone – alpine and nordic skiing, snowboarding, husky driving etc.

There many beautiful and historic villages to visit. Catalunya is famous for its Romanesque churches and castles. Here are a few local highlights worth a visit: Gerri de la Sal, Sort , Rivert, Esterri d’Aneu, Gerrito Peramea, Montcortes, Pobleta de Bellvei and Peramea. Abella de la Conca, Castle of Orcau the Chapel of Nuestra Senora de la Posa situated next to a large field of dinosaur footprints, the castle of Llorda, and the village of Covet. The castle of Mur, the valley of Boi (UNESCO World Heritage site).

Kayaking

Around Temp, you can practice different water sports such as rafting, kayaking, whitewater canoes, calm water canoes and mountain scuba diving.
